Milpitas is full of incredible, hidden potential. We do not need to settle for being just a place people drive through to get somewhere else. We are ready to make our city one of the best and most popular spots in Silicon Valley. To do this, we are focusing on five big goals that will boost our local economy, bring our community together, and turn our city into a great place to live:

• A Beacon of Cultural Diversity: Our city is a wonderful mix of cultures. We will celebrate this by creating special cultural districts, hosting street festivals, and building community spaces that make us all proud, and making our city a beacon of cultural diversity.

• A Hub for International Business: Our city has a special superpower: our people! Over half of our residents were born outside the United States, and more than 70% of our households speak a language other than English. Because we have families connected to cultures all over the world, we are the perfect place to help global businesses access new technologies and opportunities. By welcoming these companies to Milpitas, we will bring great-paying jobs and more money directly into our local community

• A Leader in New Transportation: With the Milpitas Transit Center already here, we will do more than just move people around. We will team up with innovators to test the latest green, self-driving technologies (such as self-driving taxis and electric vertical takeoff and landing, or EVTOL) right on our streets.

• A Launchpad for New Tech Startups: We are surrounded by tech giants, but we still have plenty of unused space. We will build workspaces to help new startups find funding, receive mentorship, and create the next big tech breakthroughs in our Innovation District. 

• The Ultimate Silicon Valley Food Spot: From the amazing food at Milpitas Square to our favorite family-owned restaurants, our food scene is fantastic. We will promote Milpitas as the top place to eat in Northern California, bringing in visitors to eat, shop, and support our local businesses.
